Letter from the Tottenham EC Officers to Claire Kober

Dear Claire,

We write in response to the news that you are stepping down from Haringey Council in May.

We would like to thank you for all the work you have done in the Borough since becoming a councillor and more importantly, since becoming leader in 2008. We recognise that Haringey is generally considered to be a well-run Council.

It is regrettable that the Haringey Development Vehicle has been such a divisive issue both within the Labour Party and the local community. We think it is the right decision to allow the Labour Group elected in May to make a decision about the future of the HDV, taking into consideration the report from Haringey’s scrutiny panel and the collapse of Carillion. This allows us to go into the local elections with clarity and in unity.

We wish you all the best in your future career.

Yours,

Tottenham Labour Executive Officers:

  • Russell Dove - Chair
  • Gideon Bull - Vice Chair (Campaigns)
  • Julie Davies - Vice Chair (Membership)
  • Seema Chandwani - Secretary
  • Sarah Williams - Treasurer
  • Therese O'Meara - Women's Officer
